REPLY From Kate McMillan:

If you prefer - I can ask a few hundred of my regular blog readers to make whatever changes they wish, when they feel like it, send in lottery number predictions, whatever the fuck they want. Hell, I'll hold a contest. Give prizes. Make it a monthly thing. My site generates 7000 - 20,000 visits (not hits) a day. I think it's doable, yes?

The point is this - this entry only exists due to a vendetta by a woman who has deep mental health issues. Her obsession with me was triggered by being banned by the administrators of the Western Standard Shotgun blog some 2.5 years ago because she chose to make a public threat against me.

I am not unique - Meaghan Walker-Williams aka Somena, has a long and sordid history of abusing blogspot sites to attack her perceived "enemies".

There are over 4000 posts on my blog, including several that have been cited in national media, the provincial legislature, etc. I am one of very few bloggers who has been directly linked by the Globe and Mail, and the CBC during the last federal election. None of those facts are mentioned, yet an obscure post about Angolan's attacking WHO workers rates mention because a Liberal party hack decided to take issue with it?

Get real. Either delete this entry or revise it. And get my fucking personal information off it. I live in a town of 900 people. Disclosing where I grew up (an even smaller community) exposes me to risk of identity theft. Considering that Somena, as she calls herself, has threatened me with personal injury (by inviting a well-known local street gang to "visit" me) via the comments section of my blog, I would advise that the admins of Wikipedia might consider their own personal liability in participating in her little games.

Ms. McMillan, I'm sorry for labelling your edits as vandalism when the real situation was more complicated. As you know, no one knows who anybody is on the internet, so it is difficult to distinguish an anonymous teenager playing online from the subject of an article trying to protect her identity, safety, and reputation. That being said, of the methods you suggest, revision is the best option. As to your issue with identifying the towns that you live and grew up in, the CBC's site only identifies you as living in rural Saskatchewan, which is good enough for me and all we can say anyway, given our verifiability policy.
After spending about a half-hour on Lexis browsing newspaper articles about you, I'm inclined to agree with your criticism that it is not written neutrally enough. I will be happy to revise it and source it to newspaper articles about you that I can find. Of course, if you know of any others than I'm not able to find, it'd be most helpful if you could give me weblinks or forward whole text. If not, I still will have enough material to work with. I don't take any position on the motives or mental health of Somena, but I will be happy to work with you and whoever else edits this article to get it in compliance with WP:NPOV, one of our most important policies here. Please give me a couple of days to revise the article, and I will get back to you as soon as I am done. Thanks.--Kchase T 18:17, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
