[edit] Charts

Regarding articles such as You (Lloyd song): Please do not insert non-notable charts such as the Hot RingMasters, or component charts such as the Hot 100 Airplay and Hot Digital Songs. Wikipedia is meant to provide general overviews of topics, not fansite-like detail, and not every chart is needed to convey to the reader information about the commercial success of a song - see Wikipedia:Record charts. Your changes are bringing the article out of line with the guidelines at WikiProject Songs and Wikipedia:Record charts. If you want to explain your edits, feel free to do so at my talk page or at the article's; if you want to suggest changes to the relevant guidelines, please do so at the talk pages of the pages I have linked to. What you shouldn't do is simply undo other people's edits without any explanation or discussion; that sort of behaviour is frowned on, and could lead to punitive action being taken against you. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 23:16, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
You've re-inserted the charts again, and I've removed them again. There have been many discussions about this, and all have come to the conclusion that certain charts, such as the Hot 100 Airplay, Hot RingMasters and Hot Digital Songs, are non notable enough for inclusion in a general encyclopedia in most cases. Go to Wikipedia talk:Record charts to make your case as to why they should be included; in the meantime I suggest you abide by the current policies and guidelines, or you may be blocked from editing for disruption.
Note also that your edits do not cite reliable sources, which is required by Wikipedia's key policy of verifiability. Please make sure all your edits are attributable to a reliable source. Extraordinary Machine 18:04, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Removed again. Stop this. Undoing other people's edits without any discussion or explanation is simply unacceptable. Either start citing your sources and abiding by the policy and guideline pages, or propose changes to the policies and guidelines at the relevant talk pages. If you decide to ignore these messages, punitive action may be taken against you. Extraordinary Machine 16:53, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
