Well welcome aboard anyway :) As you may be on a dynamic IP, expect to get welcomed as you change to ip's that have never edited before. Logging in does set 4 cookies that I am aware of:

  1. enwiki_session, a per session cookie with a session id string
  2. enwikiUserID, month long containing your userid number
  3. enwikiToken, month long tokenid, for cached passswords
  4. enwikiUserName, month long, has your username in it
