[edit] The trouble with speedy deletion
My rule of thumb is that I don't do a speedy deletion on someone/thing that is out of my area of expertise. From your many contributions to Wikipedia, I can see that you know a lot about religion, especially Lutheranism. I wouldn't have a problem with you doing a speedy delete in that area because you have a good reputation as being knowledgeble about it. But I don't see any evidence that you're knowledgable in the areas of videogame design or postmodern literature. So it doesn't seem right for you to do a "speedy delete" on Austin Grossman, who is known for his contributions in those areas. There are plenty of reliable sources cited in the article about him.

Thank you for your kind note on my user talk page. The article in question (Austin Grossman) was deleted as part of the speedy deletion process. Another editor had placed a tag on the page, expressing the concern that the subject of the article is not notable, and thus the article met a criteria for speedy deletion. In the meantime, another editor (User:AnnaleeNewitz) has re-created the article. It is possible that the article may remain on wikipedia this time; but unless there is a clear assertion of the subject's importance, with such a claim attributed reliable sources, it may be deleted again. Finally, please sign your comments on talk pages with four tildes (like so: ~~~~). Thank you. Pastordavid 22:39, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
