[edit] This page now obsolete!

Wouldn't it be better to call this page "63rd Golden Globe Awards" (and ditto for all past and future years)? Then it could list the nominees before the event, and the actual results afterwards. This would also be in line with the Oscars; see eg. 78th Academy Awards. — Johan the Ghost seance 18:37, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

It's a valid idea. I created this article (that is, I wrote the list of nominees when they came out last December) having the 77th Academy Awards nominees article as a guide. This format was the one used for this kind of listing. When I wrote the original version, we already had the final five for the award ceremony (the nominees). The article on the 78th Oscars is still reflecting the longlist — which I believe is something new for this kind of article. I don't suppose the longlist is going to be deleted once the nominees are announced, so I see how this new format works there. Since here we don't have the longlist, but rather just the five nominees for each category, maybe this format is sufficient.
Also, I'm thinking that if we named the article "63rd Golden Globe Awards", it could give the impression that there's more in here than a simple list of nominees (and winners in bold), which there isn't. Maybe it's just semantics, but rather than calling the article obsolete, I'd prefer to think that it is now "definitive", in the sense that there is nothing new of relevance to be included (something rare for a Wikipedia article).
I would not oppose a format change that could make the article better though, so maybe we could have more users pitch in here? Regards, Redux 19:12, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Move?

Guys, this page move makes no sense. The article was named as the praxis for this kind of article (see 77th Academy Awards nominees). And the name is accurate: the article is a list of nominees with the winners in bold. It is not an article about the winners. I would have appreciated a previous discussion about this too. • I completely agree. Just because the winners have been announced already doesn't change the fact that the page is still a list of nominees, and should remain a list of nominees. Maelwys 11:38, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough, guys! I guess I just kind of thought that one page for each edition of the awards would be appropriate, but there's clearly a clear plan working here. Happy editing! — Johan the Ghost seance 11:40, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Oh, it's been renamed ... yeah, I guess I'm with the "don't move"-ers now. Johan the Ghost seance 11:43, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
I can move it back. And I can see where Johan is coming from, but...er..it's just that there isn't much to be said about a particular edition of the Award, other than listing the nominees and, as an extra, bolding the winners (which "announces" them). Information about the Golden Globes in general should be, and is, at the specific article. Regards, Redux 12:25, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

The article has been moved back to the appropriate title. If anyone disagrees, please discuss your opinions here before performing another move. Thank you. Redux 15:26, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
