Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page Spanish language have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 17:34, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia:External links. Wikipedia is not a web directory or a collection of resources. LinguaSchools' link pointed to a page that is plainly commercial advertising. In the past I've already "weeded out" the list of external links in several language-related articles that offer a variety of services. These add nothing to the coverage of the article, and can be readily found by anyone using a common search engine. As to your specific question, there isn't a formal procedure that you must go through to advertise your website — that simply isn't done, no matter how good it is. In fact, if you (after becoming familiar with the relevant policies) believe that other external links are improperly listed, you can remove them yourself. See the link above as well as WP:SPAM and WP:NOT. Also, in case you're wondering, yes: I do consider that the external links section of Spanish language is bloated and should be trimmed. —Pablo D.
