The 1998 Demotape is a demotape created by Amanda Palmer of the Dresden Dolls in 1998. Thirty copies of the tape were produced, and only persons close to Amanda have heard it.
[edit] Tracklist:
A1: Bad Habit
A2: Slide
A3: Predictable Addiction
B1: Kaledrina
B2: 1.1.94
[edit] Status of Songs:
Bad Habit and Slide were both revived and are currently part of the Dresden Dolls' song library. Both appeared on The Dresden Dolls (album) and are present on Palmer's earlier demos.
Kaledrina, while having been played by Amanda with Brian Viglione, is currently only played solo and only on a Grand Piano due to Amanda's keyboard making the song sound "toyish." Palmer has said that Kaledrina will not be released as a Dresden Dolls song, but that it will find life elsewhere.
1.1.94 has not been heard of since this demo, but was said to have been considered for Amanda Palmer's solo album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer.
Predictable Addiction, says Palmer, may be eventually released in its demo form in addition to several other songs from her demos.
