45th Road–Court House Square is an elevated station on the IRT Flushing Line of the New York City Subway. Located at 45th Road and 23rd Street in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, it is served by the 7 train at all times, including peak-direction express service during rush hours and middays.
The station has a full windscreen along the platforms. The is at the south end via a mezzanine, which has one entrance/exit and a crossunder between directions. An out-of-system transfer with a MetroCard is available to the 23rd Street–Ely Avenue (E V) and Long Island City–Court Square (G) stations.
Citigroup's Long Island City office tower, opened in 1990 is located here, as well as the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center. Construction of Citigroup’s second building in Long Island City is expected to be completed in the near future. The company plans to improve the connection between the G and 7 subway stations by constructing an escalator and elevator that will allow passengers to walk between both services underground. In 2005, the station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[1]
