[edit] 3rd Div Graphic

This appears to be incorrect The Infantry Battalions should be

1 x Armoured Infantry 1 x Mechanised Infantry 1 x Light Role Infantry JS1 (talk) 12:09, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

and? there are exactly the regiments you mentioned in the 2x Mechanised Brigades (1st & 12th).
i.e 1st Mechanised Brigade:
  • the 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment is the mechanised infantry unit - the symbol is: Image:APP-6 Wheeled Mechanized Infantry.png (in this case "Wheeled Mechanised" for the many Saxons the unit fields)
  • the 3rd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment is the armoured infantry unit - the symbol is: Image:APP-6 Mechanized Infantry.png
  • the 1st Battalion Irish Guards is a light role infantry unit - the symbol is: Image:APP-6 Infantry.png (Red as colour of the Guards opposed to Green as colour of infantry units)
The British Army describes units equipped with the Warrior IFV as "Armoured Infantry" and units equipped with the Saxon as "Mechanised Infantry" - but the NATO APP-6a symbol for both is the same. The other two Brigades field only light role battalions. --noclador (talk) 13:11, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Sorry should have been more accurate - check 12th Mech it has two Armoured Infantry battalions. That apart very impressed good work. JS1 (talk) 14:16, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
12th Mech has a Mech. Btn. (4 Rifles) and an Armoured Btn. (1st Fusiliers) - but I used the same symbol for both units, as 4 Rifles has no Saxons but is equipped with tracked FV430 Mk3 Bulldog (APC)s. It is definitly a heavy Armoured unit in all but name - therefore the same symbol as all the other heavy units of the British Army: commons:Category:Military OrBat Graphics/UK and thank you very much for the commendation of my work: all 100+ graphics can be found at: commons:Category:Military OrBat Graphics --noclador (talk) 16:02, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
