Talk:3rd Battalion 7th Marines
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The battalion has also submitted a Marine for the Medal of Honor from the Global War on Terror. Corporal Jason Dunham was submitted for the award by Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Lopez, the battalion commander during the unit's deployment to Al Qaim in the summer of 2004. Corporal Dunham died from wounds sustained while attempting to save several Marines from a hand grenade thrown by the enemy. As of September 2006, the award is still pending.
The battalion is also set to deploy again to an-anbar province, where they were last time, during the last week of April 2007. The future of the battalion should also be mentioned.
- When they deploy the page will be updatd. --Looper5920 10:49, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
It is now July 2007, and they did indeed deploy the last week of April. I'm going to go ahead and update the page now. Malissin 03:07, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
This page isn't accurate. This is now their 4th tour. Their 3rd and 4th tour were both in Ramadi. The citation regarding COIN operations is regarding this 4th tour, April to November of 2007. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.156.58.34 (talk) 15:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
