Description

The anti aircraft gun on the after deck of the battlecruiser HMAS Australia, with a group of seamen centre right.
The gun is a QF 3 inch 20 cwt.
Identified left to right: (seated beside 12 inch gun, rear): Able Seaman Norman Yeend of Brunswick, Vic. Standing: Stoker Christopher George Walpole of Paddington, NSW; Stoker A Rees; Bandsman G H Cressland; unidentified; Able Seaman Lewis Bartholomew Moy of Jamestown, SA (hidden); Bandsman Charles Albert Killick of Holloway, England; Stoker William Aubrey Ashton of Liverpool, England; Ordinary Telegraphist Herman Leslie Gabbe of Warragul, Vic; Petty Officer Telegraphist Ernest Esmond Bulmer of Annandale, NSW (partly hidden); Bandsman Edward Atkey of Southsea, England; Boy First Class William Wedlock Fenwick of Adelaide, SA.
