The 3 Rivers Rats are an Eastern Indoor Football League team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They will begin play in the 2007 season, as a member of the EIFL, which is not affilitated with the Arena Football League or Af2.

The Rats played their first game on February 10, 2007 against the Mahoning Valley HitMen, and the team is found to be no more of a pick-up team, as a Moohead radio report found that players were from the Youngstown area and no Pittsburgh-area people were involved.

The name "3 Rivers" refers to the city of Pittsburgh's location at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers that forms the Ohio River.

The team left because of lack of insurance, and will be seeking membership elsewhere for 2008.

Former captain, left tackle PJ Masiello from Marlboro, NJ, is currently out for a year with a knee injury and complications resulting from excess obesity. Other notable players on the team's roster include place kicker Ruben Sevumyants (known affectionately by fans as "Turk" or "The Thickness") who developed his kicking skills playing soccer on dirt roads in Uzbekistan and running back Greg "Limpy" Lichtenthal who was the league's leading rusher before sustaining a serious head injury after a rival player threw a football at his forehead. Mike "It's Miller Time" Miller, a highly tauted prospect at tight end, left the EIFL after receiving an offer from Carlo's Pizza to be their lead delivery analyst. Miller ultimately opted to attend law school instead, a move he now desperately regrets.
