Description

Title: EVERYDAY LIFE DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR
Description: Soldiers of III Brigade, 37th Division, pose for the camera, as they look through the windows of a ruined house in Hamel. Some are holding bombs, a stack of which can be seen on the ground beside the house.
Comment : these are bombs for the Vickers 2 inch Medium Mortar.
NOTE : this version has had brightness and contrast artificially increased to bring out more detail.
