’Til Death is an American sitcom on the Fox network which premiered on September 7, 2006 and is written and executive-produced by husband-and-wife team Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa. The show stars film actor Eddie Kaye Thomas and newcomer actress Kat Foster as Newlyweds Jeff and Steph Woodcock, who have been married 12 days, move next door to a couple, Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy Stark (Joely Fisher), the parents of a college-aged child named Allie (Krysten Ritter), who have been married for circa 23 years (8,743 days, as shown in the pilot episode). The newlyweds get a surprising look at what their future might hold.
Beginning on March 14, 2007, the show was given the coveted time slot directly following the American Idol results show, which led to an improvement in the ratings.[1]
On May 11, 2007 the show was renewed for a second season, which premiered on September 19, 2007.[2]
The show currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8:30/7:30c on FOX, after Back to You, which features Brad Garrett's former Everybody Loves Raymond co-star, Patricia Heaton. As of November 6, 2007, however, production of the show was halted due to the 2007 Writers' Strike.[3] The show went on hiatus on November 28, but returned with a new episode on a special night Tuesday March 25, 2008 at 9:30/8:30c. [4] Then on April 16, 2008, 'Til Death moved again to Wednesday's at 8/7c leading into Back to You. [5]
On May 9, 2008, the series was given a 13 episode order for its third season, while comedy companion Back to You was cancelled.[6]

[edit] Cast
The show centers around Eddie and Joy Stark, who have been married for ages. They live in suburban Philadelphia and are neighbors of a much newer married couple. That newer marriage is between a young couple named Steph and Jeff. Eddie and Joy are represented as the more unpleasant couple, known for trading barbs with each other, gloating when right, and squabbling. However, Jeff and Steph Woodcock are represented as the happy, optimistic couple who do romantic things together and are sweet with each other. The main idea of the show is Steph and Jeff Woodcock getting a glimpse of their future as a married couple from Eddie and Joy Stark's marriage.
- Brad Garrett as Eddie Stark. Eddie always thinks he's correct over Joy, and always tries to prove that she's incorrect. Eddie can even hold his own when it comes to talking the talk. Eddie's inconsiderateness often puts off people, including his wife. His mistakes, wackiness, and lack of strengths often cause him to make a fool of himself in the end. The fact that Eddie becomes particularly cocky and overconfident in himself at times, makes it even worse for him when he ends up being wrong or goofing up. Eddie has a pedantic side and a great knowledge of history, possibly because he's a teacher. Eddie has a small set of guy friends he's sometimes seen hanging out with. Eddie's full of marital advice for dealing with wives for his neighbor, Jeff Woodcock. Eddie and Joy have one daughter named Ally, who is in college.
- Joely Fisher as Joy Stark, Eddie's loving wife. Joy makes valid points, speaks intelligently, and has a talent for making Eddie look wrong and feel guilty. This makes it easy for the audience to assume that she is the sane, logical, and innocent one in the marriage but it doesn't take long before it is revealed that she's as equally badly behaved, wacky, boorish, and off-putting as her husband.
- Eddie Kaye Thomas as Jeff Woodcock, a high school principal and neighbor of the Starks. Because Jeff is somewhat of a geeky, laughable, and mediocre individual, not many people understand how he got married to such an attractive woman. He sometimes becomes overly excited and makes an idiot of himself. He often finds himself turning to Eddie for advice when he doesn't know what to do in certain situations. He and Eddie are closer than Joy and Steph, in part because they work together.
- Kat Foster as Steph Woodcock. Steph is the cheerful, spirited young lady, married to Jeff Woodcock. Steph has a tendency to be a smart-aleck. She's lighthearted and carefree. She makes weak efforts at trying to get a career and sometimes won't try at all, which drives Jeff crazy. However, issues like this don't always get resolved because Steph has a way with getting her way in her marriage with Jeff. Steph and Joy don't have very much in common. However, they sometimes consult each other when they're not sure of whether or not they did the right thing in regards to their husbands. Even though Steph's out of Jeff's league, Steph finds him cute and adorable. She had a very dark past as a teenager and a child, with an endless number of boyfriends. Steph admitted to being promiscuous in college because her father wouldn't allow her to do anything growing up.
