Is it certain that the darkening of the tissue due to necrosis? Silver nitrate reacts with sodium chloride to form silver chloride, a dark colored compound, and sodium nitrate. It is possible that the darkening of the tissue is from silver chloride since sodium chloride is present in skin. Apsrobillo 01:40, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
