From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2nd Lithuanian-Belarusian Division (Polish: 2. Dywizja Litewsko-Białoruska) was a unit of the Polish Army formed in July 1919 from part of 1st Lithuanian-Belarusian Division during the Polish-Soviet War. Suffered heavy casualties during the Soviet invasion in summer 1920; parts were forced to retreat into Lithuanian territory were they were interned. Recreated soon afterwards and renamed to 20th Infantry Division. Temporarily returned to the old name after Żeligowski's Mutiny, when it formed a part of the military of the Republic of Central Lithuania.
