Blocked
You don't even have access rights to this page, so what makes you think slapping on a message saying "you're unblocked" on someone else's talk page will actually do anything? -- Netsnipe ► 09:52, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Because an admin can then arrive, see the "request granted" message, and immediately unblock. Otherwise they have to waste time reviewing the edits. I am in effect preventing administrators from needlessly wasting time performing mundane tasks. Why is no-one reviewing unblock requests? There are loads piling up now. It'll take all of about 5 minutes to do. No wonder there are so many vandals and trolls around, and so many established users leaving- no-one is treated with any respect round here! 2 year investigation (talk) 10:02, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Because some of these outstanding requests require someone with Wikipedia:CheckUser access to properly assess. You're also wasting everyone's time because in effect you've removed them from the queue and we never get to see the request. You also don't have the authority to review unblocks in the first place, so no one will respect your judgement. The Wikipedia community simply won't trust anyone who hasn't been vetted by the Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship process. -- Netsnipe ► 10:36, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
