I meant NO harm. I have NO interrest in being BLOCKED. I was SO hurt to see that a RUSSIAN, no less an admin,, deleted my page that I tried to follow the rules (I DID read them), in trying to start a page for my family name. I saw other pages that are similar here upon discovering this online and great dictionary. We have a vast Russain heritage and I found others with our name, contacted them, and began to build a page for OUR sirname. Why did he delete our page as VANITY?? it had NO vain comments and only contained truthful and researchable information on our herritage? How do I message you now?
- Genealogical research articles, while interesting to certain audiences, are not something Wikipedia seeks. Please remember that this is an encyclopedia (not a dictionary as you stated above), and not a genealogical research site. Unfortunately, I do not remember exactly which was the article that you created and I deleted—if you could remind me the title, I'd be more than glad to explain what exactly it was in violation of (from what I remember about deletions I performed recently, it most likely fell under the guidelines outlined here). The other articles on the familiy names you found were most probably either created for the family names with a certain level of notability (e.g., Trubetskoy) or are also vanity pages that slipped undetected (and should still be deleted).
- In future, please refrain from adding offensive remarks to the user pages—as you see, this is always interpreted as vandalism and may land you in trouble. If you felt the article was deleted inappropriately, the best course of action would have been to contact me (using my talk page) or another admin.—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 19:30, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
