[edit] Andy Warhol

Hi there. Just to let you know that we've been debating Warhol's sexuality on his article's talk page recently. Please read this and comment there before reverting again. Best regards, --Plumbago 15:06, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for that. I have, actually, been following the debate and the fact that there can be no clear consensus on the issue suggests that the issue is contentious so to revert to your single, narrowminded viewpoint is to do a disservice to Wikipedia readers. My changes were intended to offer to the reader the, now quite apparent, fact that the issue of Warhol's sexuality is contentious and unresolved.

To quote :
"... but this is often twisted by the homosexual community as evidence of homosexuality and laid down as fact by those who would like to claim him as one of their own due to his genius."
Erm, just a bit POV don't you think? And it could even be read as homophobic. Please at least reword this. And the point of the talk page is to debate, which you appear not to have done. As for consensus, while we didn't all agree by the end, it'd be difficult to connect your edits with the majority opinion (homosexual / asexual). For starters, what about his semi-autobiographical diary? Cheers, --Plumbago 15:26, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Just for reference, as you appear to be new to Wikipedia (judging from your contribution list), there is a three revert rule in operation. If you revert more than three times in a 24 hour period, you run the risk of being blocked. You have now reverted Andy Warhol three times (as this IP and as, I believe, Rexthestrange). Please take your beef to the talk page as I and other editors have suggested. Cheers, --Plumbago 15:52, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the advice re: reverting. As for my contribution the final line was, I agree, out of line, however, it also demonstrates my point about the value of Wikipedia as a reliable source (or the lack, thereof). I have, therefore, removed it and reiterated the contentiousness of the issue. I trust that this compromise is acceptable.
