You have referred to me as “vandal” twice now, but though my most recent reversion may have been a bit hasty, my earlier ones were not: I compared your additions to the cited sources for them, and with few exceptions (none that I can recall, actually), your material and the original material were identical down to capitalization mistakes and other oddities! Further, I do not deem the cited sources as reliable, since they neither cite their own sources nor name their authors. That aside, plagiarized material is still plagiarized, regardless of how much you copy edit it. Please review WP:ATT for details—and please dispense with the personal attacks. I provided links and had the pasted material in quotation marks, so you shouldn't have deleted them in the first place. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.62.238.122 (talk) 12:57, 16 May 2007 (UTC). [Comment moved here to keep conversation in one place.]

I don’t follow your logic: How does the material’s being in quotation marks exempt it from Wikipedia policy? I followed your links to verify the source, and that’s how I found that the material was identical to that in the sources. Like it says right under the edit box: “Do not copy text from other websites without permission. It will be deleted.” If you want to add material, that’s great; but please observe Wikipedia policy in doing so; otherwise, someone (not necessarily me) will remove it. [edit] March of the Volunteers

I am just wondering about the reason behind the latest revert of the March of the Volunteers.

Shouldn't the 'official' lyrics of China's anthem be that found on the website of the Chinese government? That is where the cited source leads the browser to after all.

The current version that wikipedia deems as 'official', however, is the translation of a user. One which could be found on the article's talk page.

I hope you consider and accept my translation of the original (and current) Chinese anthem. This translation (in my opinion) better captures the feel of the song without deviating too far from it as in the previous translation of the fourth line. -141.213.198.142

If that's the official lyrics, then what is the point of citing a source that isn't used?

Either way, it seems to me that something needs to be changed.
