Hello - a question was raised about some of the info you entered on a few pages regarding the Kurtis Blow/Bob Dylan collaboration. I've corrected an incorrect page reference from the Dylan Encyclopedia and added some other refs, all of which verify that Dylan was on the album, but the information about Debra Byrd and Wayne Garfield isn't coming up on any citation searches, so if you have some, please enter them. Specifically, the writing credit for Garfield is being questioned, but the overall connection btwn Byrd/Garfield and Dylan/Blow is at issue. I don't know one way or the other, and would like to keep the information in the articles if it is verified. Thanks Tvoz |talk 19:36, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
About the Kurtis Blow and Bob Dylan additions you made tonight - do you have a reference about Garfield and Byrd's involvement in the arrangement? If not, they may not belong there. Tvoz |talk 06:13, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
To further explain: I don't know one way or the other about the involvement of Byrd and Garfield - it may well be true. All I can verify is that Dylan collaborated with Kurtis Blow on that song, and I think that fact should be included on both their pages. But another editor has questioned the Byrd/Garfield involvement - so I'm asking for a citation for that part of it. Is it on the album notes? Garfield's writing credits are interesting, but they don't speak to this issue. So if you have some reference that you can cite, please do. Otherwise, I think the Garfield/Byrd material is likely to be removed again. I will argue in favor of keeping the verifiable Kurtis Blow-Dylan reference, and the other editor will agree, but I have no further information or opinion about Byrd/Garfield. If you do, it would be a good idea to add that. Tvoz |talk 06:25, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
hi again - I found an image of the record label which clearly shows Garfield as co-writer of Reasons for Wanting You, so I added that back into the Kurtis Blow article. I can't read the scan that I found of the back cover of the LP however. I don't doubt what you're say8ing, just would like to have something to cite so that other editors are satisfied. If there's a reference in any article or book that you know if - even if not on the web -that would be good too. I'll try it with referencing the album cover, but it may not fly. Sorry for the difficulties - in the long run, though, it's best when questions are raised that citations can be given. Tvoz |talk 07:21, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
