Bayer, the pharmaceutical company, were only formed in the mid 19th century, and the chemist who synthesized it for them did so 25 years after the original synthesis, making 1874 the consistent date. You have my most sincere apologies, I didn't notice that you had made two consecutive edits, and I when I saw words like bogs I thought it was petty vandalism.
