You need to wait and discuss when proposing moves and changes to popular pages. Please STOP what you are doing at New York, New York - then go to Talk:New York City and discuss it. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:48, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

I concur with the foregoing. Wikipedia is a collaborative writing project. We welcome new participants, but you cannot unilaterally change something that's been the subject of extensive discussion previously. The prior consensus isn't cast in stone. You're welcome to try to change people's minds. Until some minds are changed, though, you shouldn't edit the article space in accordance with your personal views -- no matter how LEGITIMATE you consider your own edits to be. How do you know that I am a "new participant", JamesMLane? I have been on Wikipedia for a number of years. I have a user ID, but I prefer to edit anonymously! 24.168.116.169 (talk) 13:16, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok, then... Using your logic, I should be referring to the place where I live as "New York, New York" and not "Staten Island, New York"! Sorry, but your assertion that "New York, New York" refers to the entire City of New York, and not just Manhattan, is just plain DUMB! 24.168.116.169 (talk) 13:16, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
