---Wait: I don't understand how my edit on paper folding could possibly be considered vandilism. Not only did I remove a mysterious sounding term which would mean nothing to 90 percent of Wikipedia users, but I also added the number of times she folded the paper, and explained that she did nothing more than calculate how long a piece of paper has to be to be folded in half 12 times then fold a sheet of that length.
- It is impossible to fold anything in half more than 8 times. That is why I reverted your edits. J.delanoygabsadds 13:58, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
No: that's exactly the misconception this girl proved false.
This holds mathematically: the girl found out that anything at least 3.14159 times as long as it is wide can be folded in half. For any material of finite thickness, and infinite length, after any fold, the height will remain finite, while the length remains infinite. Thus it holds that a piece of paper of finite thickness can be folded ANY finite number of times provided it is long enough. This girl proved that by folding toilet paper in half 12 times.
