Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.
Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 217.42.5.54). Logging in does not require any personal details, and there are many other benefits for logging in.
When you edit pages:
- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such content or editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can click the edit this page tab above, type {{helpme}} in the edit box, and then click Save Page; an experienced Wikipedian will be around shortly to answer any questions you may have. Also feel free to ask a question on my talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. --Bushcarrot (Talk·Desk) 14:53, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Muslims
We don't place every adherent of a religion in a category; if you check the category you'll see that it's divided into lots of sub-categories; "footballers" – "even sportsmen" – isn't one of them. If he were a cleric, philosopher, theologian, etc., then fine, but Islam isn't of great relevance to his profession. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:05, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- It is not a question of proving that he's a Muslim; I have little doubt that he is. You need to read what I say above, and check the categories. Please stop adding this category.
- Note also that the category is being considered for deletion; you seem to be intent on adding every person who happens to be a Muslim to the category. Again, please stop. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:05, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

- As you seem either unable or unwilling to read what I say, there seems little point saying anything more. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:51, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
I've discussed this with other people. So far, the consensus is that all these footballers should certainly not be in the Category:Muslims, though there'd be no problem with the creation of new subcategories for them (in line with the other subcategories of Muslims by occupation). --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:06, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Last warning
OK, you're clearly not interested in rational discussion, nor are you prepared to accept the alternative course of action that I suggested. I'm afraid that the next time that you edit disruptively by placing articles about indivuduals in inappropriate categories, I shall have to block you from editing for a period. If you continue after that, the blocks will be longer and longer. If you edit constructively and in line with Wikipedia guidelines, then we'll be happy to have you here. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- I have already suggested that you create that subcategory (which would entail cretaing an intermediate subcategory). Personally I think that it's pointless; I seriously doubt that anyone is desperate to know the religious beliefs of footballers (and if those beliefs are significant in any case, they'll be in the article). Still, there are so many pointless categories, one more won't hurt. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:39, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
