[edit] The God Who Wasn't There
Hi. Can you tell me who author of that webpage you linked to is? I couldn't find an "About" page on it that indicated who he/she was. Is he a scholar of some sort? Has he mentioned the film in particular? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 17:00, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hi again. I consulted with User:SlimVirgin, and as I suspected, he/she confirmed that the source you cited for your additions to the article is a self-published source by someone not established as an expert in the field, as per Wikipedia:Verifiability#Self-published sources (online and paper). I have removed that material based on this policy. If you can establish that that author (or some other author with the same published criticisms of the film) is considered an expert in a field related to the subject of the article, then we can re-add the material. And if you're new to Wikipedia, let me know if you need any other help with editing. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 00:12, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

- I posted this reference since it’s both online and have several references for further research. I could of course give references to several books claiming the same fact, but these facts would be less transparent to check and harder for others to verify. A very credible source would be "Mithraic Studies: Proceedings of the First International Congress of Mithraic Studies" (Manchester University Press, 1975) Or you can simply link to one of the many websites refering the same fact.... Such as the link i provided, or even this one: http://www.tektonics.org/copycat/mithra.html. Best regards, Øyvind....
If the books in question and that website are authored by people considered experts in the field, then adding an accurate quote or paraphrase from them, and citing them as the source for it would be perfectly fine. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 16:31, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
