[edit] Open Group edits
Thanks for the contributions. I note that your IP is opengroup12.44mont.buildinet.net - i.e., you're editing from the organisation. Unfortunately, your edit to The Open Group, putting in a large chunk from the organisation's website, was so promotional in style that it led one editor to put an {{advert}} notice on the article ...
If you're adding info about the Open Group to the encyclopedia from the organisation, probably the best thing for you to do is (1) create a username for yourself, say who you are and that you work for the Open Group (2) if it's a busy page, put a note on the talk page rather than adding info directly to articles which might be seen to promote TOG specs - apart from the obvious conflict of interest, it's very hard for someone to see themselves neutrally, and that applies to organisations as much as individuals.
But thanks for the contributions, and please do continue! - David Gerard 11:12, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
