As of Monday 03.03.08 I started taking amitiza 24 mcg bid (twice a day). Shortly thereafter I began to experience side affects of what appeared to be asthma. I do not have asthma, it is not a family inheretant and I have never been diagnosed with asthma. This medication caused me to have severe breathing difficulties that caused tearing in my bilateral lower lung fields, having to be treated by RT (resperitory thearpy), with a breathing treatment containing albuterol and a small amount of epinepherin (? spell), these treatments were somewhat affective and yet did not correct the breathing difficulties in a timely manner. The reason I'm writing this is that I do not want anyone to take this medication after what I experienced due to the fact that this medication could have eventually caused my death. I've been affiliated with the medical field since I was 23 and am now 53. I only wish I would have checked on the side effects of this medication sooner and saved myself and many, many concerned people about my health status. So I now write this in hopes that I can help save someone eles the pain and grief I experienced. I will be reporting the side effects that I experienced to the manufacturer of this medications asap, and to whoever it takes to get this medication off the market asap. I did note write this note on a concealed IP add. I want everyone to be able to read this. I have never written on this site before, but I'm including my e-mail add: here for feedback of any kind inreference to amitiza ONLY. Please be careful taking any medications out there and always read the side effects to be aware of possible changes or interactions with your current perscription medicines and your over the counter (OTC) medications. dmgsong@mchsi.com
I look forward to all your feedback. Have a GOD given great day!!!!! Chardra
