[edit] Vespoids and ants
Hi. Just to clarify things so you don't keep trying to edit the ant page; the superfamily Vespoidea is a large lineage, much older than the ants. WHATEVER the exact, specific ancestor of ants was, it belonged to the superfamily Vespoidea, and COULD NOT have belonged to any other superfamily. It is therefore absolutely correct to state "ants evolved from vespoids". Again, there is no possibility that they evolved from members of any other superfamily. The way you had edited it (using the phrase "may have") would be like saying that humans "may have" evolved from primates. We DID evolve from primates - just because there is debate about which primates does not invalidate the statement. Dyanega 16:24, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please familiarize yourself with WP:NOT. If you wish to debate evolution versus creationism, there is an article and talk page where the topic is discussed; otherwise, religious opinion is not an appropriate basis for editing WP articles. Dyanega 17:23, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
