[edit] Intercession
Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed your recent edit to the article Intercession. It seems that much of the text was quoted verbatim from other websites, including: [1], [2]. Unfortunately, if you are not the original author of this information and do not have permission to license it under the GFDL, Wikipedia cannot accept it due to copyright concerns. I have therefore removed that information from the article.
If the text is your own original work, or you have obtained permission to contribute it to Wikipedia, just let me know and I'll restore the text (or you can do it yourself, if you want). Bear in mind that by doing so, you grant permission for it to be edited by other Wikipedians. Also, a note on the talk page explicitly stating the article's copyright status would be much appreciated.
If you are not the person who added this text, feel free to disregard this message; as the contributor was editing anonymously, the only means we have of identifying him/her was by IP address. If this message has reached you in error, please accept my apology for the inconvenience. Thanks. —David Wahler (talk) 17:32, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that in your additions to the Straight_Edge article on Wikipedia that you seem to be adding links to the link section that seemingly have little to no relevent content, additionally you seem to be removing links that may include pertinent content.
Would you care to discuss this issue? I feel that the articles integrity is being damaged by this constant changing within the links section.
[edit] Short Message Service
Hello, and thank you for your recent additions to the Short message service article. I have reverted your additions twice now, and you may be wondering why, so I am leaving this note in an attempt to explain. If you read the article fully, you may notice that the majority of your additions to the introduction are already covered in the Premium content section, with 82Ask mentioned further down (actually, I may move that bit up into the Premium Content piece at some point, and include your google SMS search service too). The only information you have added to the article as a whole are related to the CSCA, which is a US organisation, and as such only administers short codes within the US. Since it's a US-only administrator, this detail is inappropriate to the introduction of the article, and it is also inaccurate to declare, in the intro, that short codes "are administered by the Common Short Code Administration (CSCA).", since that is only true in the US. However, it could be a good addition to the US section here. Again, thank you for your contributions, and I hope that you will be able to improve the article as a whole in the future. [edit] Possible conflict of interest
Actually, having done a 'whois' on this IP address, I notice these edits to Short Message Service, and also Short code are coming from Neustar, Inc. If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
For more details, please read the Conflict of Interest guideline. Thank you. Carre 20:09, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
