[edit] Whitewashing "International Biographical Centre"
In this edit, as well as others by you, you seem intent on removing from the article on the "International Biographical Centre" anything that suggests it's a publisher that provides an extremely minor form of recognition on receipt of money.
Perhaps the article is wrong and you are right (although I note that the library I use doesn't bother to stock any of the publications of the "Centre"). If so, explain this lucidly and persuasively on the article's talk page. If you fail to do this, your deletions will be considered mere vandalism. -- Hoary 11:08, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
I was first included in WHO'S WHO MIDWEST (MARQUIS) then came the Who's Whos of International Biographical Centre and American Biographical Institute. I was included without paying money. I have about 450 refeered pubs. Please see JOELSNELL.COM and look under ABOUT.I will be the first to empasize that they are less prestigous than Marquis, but not illegitimate. IBC and ABI also have international meetings every year in 5 star hotels throughout the world. Please reconsider your remarks. I am a Fellow in both organizations, however it has cost me very little to nothing. Further, I have been recognized by the first tier organizations years ago. The two organizations are not like diploma mills. All that I ask is that you moderate your remarks.

- Thank you for your comments. Many people are included without paying any money. The sting comes later in the request for money for the spurious awards. IBC and ABI are not illegitimate, otherwise I assume they would be shut down, but they travel very close to the wind. If you look at the calibre of many of the people claiming IBC and ABI affiliation (do a Google Search) you will see that the vast majority don't deserve such recognition. I suggest that you are reducing your own prestige by claiming ABI and IBC affilliation! Finally, the fact that they have 5 star conferences every year says absolutely nothing about those who receive awards... Any changes you make should be cited. Gillyweed 11:21, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

- Again, thanks for the comments, but you may wish to add them to Talk:International Biographical Centre. ¶ And on a personal note, I'll second Gillyweed in suggesting that if this outfit puts you in its book you'd better keep mum about this. (It -- or ABI; I mixed them up -- offered to put me in too; I didn't notice any demand for payment but assumed that this was in the pipeline. I had a good laugh at the "invitation" and threw it into the trash.) -- Hoary 02:53, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
I want to thank you for the changes made. I am happy to be involved in some of the IBC and ABI books with my information. You can see my profile in socialvibes.net or joelsnell.com under the ABOUT section. However, the remarks made in this revision seem very justifiable. I don't want to log on because I want you to know who I am and what I do. I want to thank the both of you as editors of the board. WIKI is so very valuable and my students (I am semi-retired now) use WIKI first then check with other online encyclopedias. My very best to both of you! Prof. Joel Snell
