My recent edits to Oil were intended to correct the article's factually inaccurate assertion that tar occurred in tar pits. Indeed, as Wikipedia's own articles clearly state, and as I reflected in my edits, tar is a product of the destructive distillation of organic substances, while tar pits contain asphalt. I strongly suggest that the next time you revert a user's edits and leave a message noting this action on such a user's talk page, you should get more deeply acquainted with the facts in question. This will not only help you to be a more productive and effective administrator, but it will also help you gain the respect of those thousands of contributors who tirelessly edit wikipedia in the name of scientific accuracy.
