[edit] Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Plus, you (and others) will easily be able to see a list of all your contributions to Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! ReverendG 03:56, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Hello. Before making potentially controversial edits, such as those you made to University of Ottawa, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Otherwise, people might consider your edits to be vandalism. Thank you.

[edit] Pilates4u
A tag has been placed on Pilates4u, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Leebo86 21:04, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sea level rise
Hi there. I've just reverted your edit to sea level rise. While it's correct to say that the melting of ice already in the sea has no effect on sea level rise, this is not the predicted source of sea level rise. Instead, sea level rise will primarily be a sum of three factors:
- thermal expansion of seawater; the warmer water is, the greater its volume
- the melting of ice on land in Greenland
- the melting of ice on land in Antarctica
The last of these represents the most significant source of water to raise sea levels, but its future is the least clear. At the moment, in fact, the quantity of ice on Antarctica is increasing; but this is believed to be a temporary effect, that will be offset by later warming. All in all, it is estimated that if all land ice melts, approximately 80 m of sea level rise can be expected. With the thermal effect addition on top of that. Cheers, --Plumbago 16:50, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
