Attention:
This IP address, 204.13.82.149, is registered to Food Emporium (Wifi HotSpot), and may be shared by multiple users. If the organization uses proxy servers or firewalls, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.
For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another and a block may be shared by many. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases, you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism; if so, please see here.
If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user. Alternatively, you can list the IP at Wikipedia:WikiProject on XFFs.
Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.
| Note: In the event of vandalism from this address, abuse reports may be sent to your network administrator for further investigation. |
IT staff who want to monitor vandalism from this IP address can subscribe to a web feed of this page in either RSS or Atom format.

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.
Request reason: "This isn't an open proxy. It's a wi-fi hotspot. Why shouldn't we be allowed to edit from that?"
Decline reason: "A wifi hotspot is effectively an open proxy. — :-) Stwalkerster [ talk ] 09:43, 10 June 2008 (UTC)"
Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

Request reason: "Still, is it fair that we get blocked for making just one edit? There's no rule that says you can't edit from a wireless Internet connection."
Decline reason: "There is; see WP:NOP. — Sandstein 11:10, 10 June 2008 (UTC)"

Request reason: "Can you at least shorten the block or make it "anon-only" so we can edit with an account? Even when we log in, we can't edit. Making one edit does not justify a perminent block."
Decline reason: "Per our guidelines, we do not allow editing from anonymous proxies. For more information, see Meta:No open proxies. — Rjd0060 (talk) 15:49, 10 June 2008 (UTC)"

Do you have an existing account we could check? Only then would we consider softening this. If not, go somewhere else and create one first. Daniel Case (talk) 14:59, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I have an account. However, can you verify whether or not 204.13.82.149 is an open proxy as the blocking user claims? --SummerHunter (talk) 18:09, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

- I've asked for it to be double-checked. Despite all the above responses, WiFi access points and other public computers are not the same thing as open proxies. Mangojuicetalk 18:57, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. A wifi hotspot is not an open proxy, and if this is the only reason it is blocked, then it should be unblocked. The Evil Spartan (talk) 00:10, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Per discussion here and at AN, I'm softening this to allow registered-user editing. Daniel Case (talk) 02:57, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
This was a softblock already, apparently. Daniel Case (talk) 03:00, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
| This is the discussion page for an anonymous user, identified by the user's numerical IP address. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users. Registering also hides your IP address.
