[edit] Regarding your edits to Crochet

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Lmblackjack21 10:01, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

But you haven't explained why the link to our site is not within Wikipedia guidelines, while the other sites that are linked there are?

Mainly because it seems like you're trying to spam your site URL instead of discussing the addition in the talk page first. --Lmblackjack21 08:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I did start the discussion on the talk page, but when I didn't get a response, I went ahead and added it. To say that I have repeatedly added it without discussion is a bit rich. I added it once. It was removed. So, I went to the talk page, added my request to consider it, and when I got no response, I went ahead and added it again. I am not trying to spam, far from it. I am trying to add our link because we are a legitimate site, with information related to Crochet section, which far outweighs any information that is out there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.171.83.30 (talkcontribs)

I don't see any discussion in the talk page or your edit history until after I removed your link: I meant to say that before you added the link, you should have discussed it on the talk page, per Wikipedia's external links policy. I quote the part in interest below:

Due to the rising profile of Wikipedia and the amount of extra traffic it can bring a site, there is a great temptation to use Wikipedia to advertise or promote links. This includes both commercial and non-commercial sites. You should avoid linking to a website that you own, maintain or represent, even if the guidelines otherwise imply that it should be linked. If the link is to a relevant and informative site that should otherwise be included, please consider mentioning it on the talk page and let neutral and independent Wikipedia editors decide whether to add it. This is in line with the conflict of interests guidelines.

Another factor is that almost all the edits made on this IP address involve spreading the Craftbits name around, which is similar to how many spammers work. Basically, I thought you were a spammer, so I reverted the link addition. If you really want the link considered for addition, why not bring it up on the talk page in a more neutral fashion? --Lmblackjack21 14:15, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
