The Government's Transport 21 iniative which aims to improve road, rail and bus transport in the Greater Dublin Area and all across Ireland is due to be completed.^[1]

The Republic of Ireland's population is expected to reach 5 million people if high trends of inward migration and relatively high fertility rates continue.^[2]
