[edit] Anthem good or bad?

The Australian National Anthem, Advance Australia Fair, was sung by both Human Nature and Julie Anthony. The performance is still regarded by many worldwide as the greatest rendition of a National Anthem at any Olympic Ceremony.

And yet Advance Australia Fair#Criticisms says:

The Sydney 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony highlighted the fact that most of the large audience was unfamiliar with the second verse of the anthem, sung by Julie Anthony (the first verse was sung by Human Nature).

So was it a god or bad rendition? Timrollpickering 15:57, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't think those are contradictory statements. A song can be well sung, but the words unfamiliar to those who hear it. Incidentally, that the second verse isn't well known is a charge that can also be levied at God Save the Queen.
