2009 African Youth Championship

The 2009 African Youth Championship is a football tournament for Under 20 players. It will be held in Rwanda from the 18th of January until the 1st of February 2009.

The competition will consist of three rounds of two legged matches. Some countries have a bye to the First Round. The winners of the Second Round matches qualify for the Finals in Rwanda.

[edit] Preliminary Round

The first leg is played on either the 18th, 19th or 20th of April 2008. The second leg is held on either the 2nd, 3rd or 4th of May 2008. The winners advance to the First Round.

Congo, Nigeria, Zambia, Gambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Cameroon, Benin, Morocco, Tunisia, Mali, Ghana, Angola, Gabon, South Africa and Burkina Faso all have byes to the First Round.
