2008 AFC Men's Pre-Olympic Tournament

The Asian Football Confederation's Pre-Olympic Tournament was held from February 7 to November 21, 2007. Twenty-four teams entered the qualification for the three allocated spots for the 2008 Summer Olympics Football tournament in Beijing.
In the Preliminary Round the ten lowest seeded teams had to play each other in home and away games, with the ten aggregate winners advancing to the second stage where they played together with the 14 seeded teams in six groups of four teams each. The winners and runner-ups of each group advanced to the final stage. The final stage was played with three groups of four teams each; the three group winners qualified to the finals alongside hosts China.
The qualification saw Australia, Korea Republic and Japan winning their final round groups and qualifying to the Olympics.
