The 2006 Heineken Open was an ATP Tour tennis tournament held from January 9 - 14 in Auckland, New Zealand. In the singles final, Finn Jarkko Nieminen beat Croatian Mario Ančić 6-2, 6-2. In the doubles final, Andrei Pavel and Rogier Wassen defeated the top seeded Simon Aspelin and Todd Perry 6-2, 5-7, [10-4].

The semi-finals featured a notable match between between Jarkko Nieminen and Olivier Rochus. Nieminen triumphed in 3 sets after Rochus had saved 10 match points.
