1st Canadian Carrier Regiment

1st Canadian Carrier Regiment was an armoured regiment of the Canadian Army during the late stages of World War II in the European theatre.

The 1CACR was founded in 1944 and is the only Canadian regiment to formed and disbanded overseas.

Known also as The Kangaroos, the regiment was an armoured unit of tanks and APC.

Former Defence Minister Gordon Minto Churchill commanded this unit.
