[edit] Rationale

First, what is the rationale for the 19th century subcategory? Does it mean double-listing as baseball player and 19th century b.p. for everyone who played at least one pro game before 1901 and at least one after 1900?

Second, granting 19th century, shouldn't the category be 19th century baseballist or bb person rather than player in particular? If 19th century baseball, and Negro Leagues (for 1920-1948 organized competition), and Japanese baseball, and college baseball, and so on, will all be outside-the-mainstream subjects for articles, thinly covered for years, why not include all the persons --players, managers, owners, writers, whoever attracts an article. --P64 04:50, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
