[Frankie Lucas] - One man and his country. In the 1974 British Commonwealth Games a lone competitor representing the small island of Saint Vincent won the Gold medal in the Middleweight division of the boxing tournament. Frankie Lucas aged 20 was overlooked for the England team, for whom he had represented a number of times. Frank then represented Saint Vincent the island he had left for England when he was just 6 years of age. Frankie was the only participant representing Saint Vincent in any sport and carried the flag on his own during the opening and closing ceremonies.
