Designer Wesley A. Clark is shown with the first LINC (1962). He is making adjustments to the oscilloscope display. On the left a relay rack is visible. The rack contained the flip-flops on individual cards. This was all connected by massive cabling.

[edit] Fair use rationale

  1. "Irreplaceable". It is a picture taken around the time of the LINC, showing it and its designer in their original state. A picture taken today, even if possible, would show a much older Wesley Clark and would be anachronistic. Additionally, Wesley Clarke is unlikely to habitually pose with LINCs today.
  2. There is no known original market role of the original copyrighted media.
  3. The image is small, low-resolution, and greyscale. Only one image is used.
  4. The image has previously been published.
  5. The image is encyclopedic and otherwise meets general Wikipedia content requirements.
  6. The image meets the media-specific policy requirements on Wikipedia:Image use policy
  7. The image is used in LINC.
  8. The image identifies the subject of the article LINC: IE, a LINC. It also identifies one of the two designers.
  9. The image is only used in the article namespace.
  10. This media description page contains source information, an appropriate fair use tag, and this fair use rationale
