- Pole position: Jim Clark - 1:47.56
- Fastest Lap: Jim Clark - 1:48.13
- For the first time in 8 years, two team-mates went into the last race with a chance of winning the title.
- Denny Hulme (47pts) needed just 4th place to win the title.
- Jack Brabham (42pts) needed 1st place, with Hulme 5th or lower.
