[edit] Summary
Nashville Banner announcement of Russell's promotion to sports editor, 21 September 1930. Copied by E. Thomas Wood from microfilm; Wood disclaims any rights in this copy. Copyright status researched by E. Thomas Wood: 1) No claim of copyright was made on the newspaper when it was published; 2) No renewal of any possible copyright held by the Nashville Banner or any individual author was made by the time such copyright would have expired in the 1960s; 3) No entity is known to claim copyright to material published in the Banner as early as 1930 (and in fact any copyrights held by the Banner have been transferred to a public entity, the Public Library of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County, upon the donation of the Banner's archives to the library).
