[edit] Norwich University

Please stop vandalizing this entry. Longshot14 21:15, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

You have recently vandalized a Wikipedia article, and you are now being asked to stop this type of behavior. You're welcome to continue editing Wikipedia, so long as these edits are constructive. Please see Wikipedia's Blocking policy and what constitutes vandalism; such actions are not tolerated on Wikipedia, and are not taken lightly.

We hope that you will become a legitimate editor and create an account. Again, you are welcome here at Wikipedia, but remember not to vandalize or you will soon be blocked from editing.

If you feel you have received this message in error, it may be because you are using a shared IP address. Nevertheless, repeated vandalism from this address may cause you to be included in any future punishments such as temporary blocks or bans. To avoid confusion in the future, we invite you to create a user account of your own.

I find it ABSURD that my contribution is considered 'vandalizing.'

Is anything I wrote incorrect?

This all presumes, of course, that the population under scrutiny meets all of Haldane's criteria and contraints, which real populations rarely do. The 'dilemma' aspect, emphasized by creationists, such as electrical engineer Walter ReMine, also assumes that a large number of beneficial mutations are required to produce what could be relatively minor phenotypic changes. For example, in the question of human evolution from an ape-like ancestor, it seems obvious that relatively few large-scale changes would be 'required' to evolve Homo from a non-Homo ancestor, since the obvious phenotypic differences between humans and our closest living relatives, chimpanzees - which evidence indicates also evolved from the same ancestral species - are of degree and not kind. Thus, the production of a 'new gene(s)' would not be required as many seem to think, and even among the changes that did occur, all need not have been 'beneficial', which means an application of Haldane's model for those changes is inappropriate. Generally speaking, the use of 'Haldane's dilemma' as some sort of problem for evolution - even to implicate evolutionary biologists as being part of some sort of cover-up - is disingenuous and unwarranted when one looks at the real issues.

If so, please point it out.

What part of it is not 'constructive', and who took it upon themselves to decide?

My edit puts the issue into perspective, and points out how the 'dilemma' is not a dilemma at all in terms of understanding the processes involved.

Please explain to me why this is considered 'vandalism.'

Otherwise, please stop misrepresenting my edit.

This IP address was recently used to vandalize the Wikipedia article Palko v. Connecticut. If vandalism continues from this address it will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

If this IP address is shared between multiple users, then your edits may be unrelated to this vandalism. To avoid being included in any future sanctions such as temporary blocks or bans, we invite you to create a user account of your own. Sander123 14:55, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our neutral point of view policy will not be tolerated. alphachimp 16:20, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Recent edits

I don't think anyone has called the most recent edits from this IP to be vandalism (if you notice, the IP is used by multiple people, so not all the messages will go to the intended individual). The main issue with your addition is that it seems to be original research which Wikipedia does not do. If you have reliable sources for the statemeents then it might be included. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you.
