The 1922 West Virginia Mountaineers football team completed the regular season with a 9-0-1 record. They earned the school's first bowl bid, journeying to the East-West Bowl where they defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs 21-13. This gave the Mountaineers their first 10 win season.
