[edit] Hugo Chavez

Hi there, thanks for your interest in the 'pedia. I noticed that you added some contentious information to an article on Hugo Chavez, specifically a claim that he personally tortured and executed prisoners during the 1992 coup.

Furthermore, this information was added before a footnote, making it appear as if the footnoted source, a book by Richard Gott, was the source of this information.

If you did not read this book and find the information you added, you shouldn't add it before a footnote. Rather, you should find the source which says it, and use that footnote instead.

If you don't have a reliable, published source which makes this claim, it is not appropriate for Wikipedia - and particularily not for a biography of a living person.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment on my Talk page.
