hi there, genius (i presume) from R065, King of Prussia. in the future, when making edits to apple-related articles, you probably want to log in, so you don't advertize that you're editing this page from an apple store. it'd likely be frowned upon by WP sticklers, not to mention IS&T. you might want to refer to review Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Congressional staffer edits to Wikipedia before continuing to edit articles about your employer. Frijole 17:40, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello: first, please rest assured that this situation is not going to happen again. Any further edits on any articles will be done with a login. The Wikipedia pages regarding conflict of interest and the rewriting of history were looked over carefully. I don't see where either one is relevant here, however. This is why: I would think that someone who works for Apple and especially in their retail store chain would know about the issue that was commented on (i.e., that the red phone is no longer in any of their new stores). There certainly is *not* a red phone in our store. This is the only change/addition that was made to that page and because it is fact, it is something that cannot be disputed - no matter who placed the sentence there. Therefore, there is no conflict. What was written in that one addition/edit can be verified by anyone. No matter how much love for Apple one has, love and any loyalty did not come into play here. All that was said is that there is not a red phone to AppleCare in any of our newer stores - and that is the truth. No attempt to rewrite history was attempted by adding this one sentence. Red phones were in use at one time and they are not in use at Apple stores any longer. Best regards. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 17.232.65.112 (talk • contribs) 20:49, 3 December 2006 (UTC).
[edit] yeah, but...
that was mainly illustrated to point out the negative view that WP has in general for self-editing or editing articled about one's employer (for instance, the edits by staffers that did not attempt to "rewrite history" and the like were just as frowned upon as those that did). You may also want to refer to internal policy on posting to apple-related websites, as this seems to me it would apply to apple-related sections of other websites as well.
